Nintendo has sold 4.7 million Nintendo Switch consoles since sales began in March this year, according to the firm’s quarterly financial report.
Net sales of Nintendo in the first quarter of the current fiscal year generated $1.38 billion, which is 148.6% higher than the result for the same period last year.
The company’s profit amounted to $190.1 million, while the first quarter of 2016 ended with a loss of $219.4 million.
Revenues from games and downloadable content for mobile platforms reached $80.5 million, which is 450% higher than in 2016.
Nintendo Switch remains the main driver of the Japanese company’s financial results. According to Nintendo forecasts, the company will sell at least 10 million units of the Nintendo Switch by the end of 2017.
