Nintendo console designer Genyo Takeda announced his retirement and retirement.
Genye Takeda designed an analog stick for the Nintendo 64 controller, which was later copied by Sony and Microsoft in the joypads of their consoles. He also led the development of the Nintendo Wii console.
In addition to working on the hardware, Takeda participated in the creation of such Nintendo titles as Punch-Out!, Pilotwings 64 and Dr. Mario 64.
After the departure of Satoru Iwata in 2015, Takeda, along with Shigeru Miyamoto, became the representative director of Nintendo.
According to the company, his place in this position will be taken by the current head of the Ko Shiota platform development division.
68-year-old Genye Takeda will retire in June this year.
