There are more hardcore gamers who have played Pokémon GO than casual gamers. The analytical company Newzoo told about this and many other things in its research on the game.

Pokémon GO is not a one-day hit, according to Newzoo. Despite the fact that the performance of the game by the end of September had dropped significantly compared to peak values, Pokémon GO remains a very successful title.

The game has been earning, on average, $ 2 million a day in recent weeks (on the best days in the summer, it had $ 16 million a day), its daily downloads currently amount to about 700 thousand. At the same time, according to analysts, the game has not yet been officially launched in South Korea and China.

The USA, Great Britain, Germany and France are responsible for 39% of all downloads of the game from Google Play. They are also responsible for 62% of Pokémon GO downloads from iOS devices. Based on this information, Newzoo analyzed the game data from these regions and found out a number of interesting points.

1) The game has made more than 20 million people mobile gamers in the USA, Great Britain, Germany and France: 24% of Pokémon GO players have not played any of the top mobile titles monitored by Newzoo in the last three months.

2) Pokémon GO is the most popular mobile game in these regions: 37% of the number of gamers in these countries have played Pokémon GO at least once in the last three months. For comparison, the second most popular game is Candy Crush Saga with 27%.

3) The Pokemon project is much more popular among hardcore gamers than casual ones: 80% of Dota 2 and Smite players have played Pokémon GO at least once. There are only 46% of such players in Candy Crush Saga.

4) One of the main reasons for the success of Pokémon GO is the strength of the brand: 72% of users of the novelty have previously played at least one game released under the name Pokémon (on average, among gamers, the experience of playing Pokémon is 42%). Fans of the brand also turned out to be more loyal to him than other players.

5) 43% of Pokémon GO players are women. The average share among the Top 100 games is 33%.

6) There are more paying players among men in Pokémon GO than women – 67%.

7) The most important aspects of Pokémon GO players consider: the competitive aspect of the game, openness (the ability to explore), as well as ease and a short session.
