Rovio reports that Vesterbaka will continue to engage in educational startups. Earlier, he had already founded the educational project Lightneer, the sphere of which is educational games.
Peter, despite leaving Rovio, will remain one of the holders of its shares, and is also going to work with its chairman of the board of directors, Kaj Hed, on new projects in the future.
Whether the departure of Vesterbak is connected with the far from the best rental of “Angry Birds in the cinema” is unknown. But at the moment, the picture, whose total budget was about $ 400 million, has not paid off at the box office.
By the way, in 2011, in connection with the expansion of the original Angry Birds game, Peter Vesterbaka was recognized as one of the hundred most influential people in the world by The Times magazine.
