Destiny has become the second most popular shooter series on the American market. And there is also the seventh among the best—selling game franchises.

This was announced by NPD Group analyst Mat Piscatella on Twitter. He notes that the Bungie series was second only to Activision’s Call of Duty in terms of sales among shooters.

This year, the Destiny franchise turns five years old. Its second part turned out to be the sales leader in the USA for 2017 (this is the year of its release).

Just today Destiny 2 is moving out of the store Battle.net on Steam and becomes shareware. At the same time, her new DLC, Shadowkeep, is being released, but, unlike the basic version, it is paid.
