Investment daughter Mail.Ru The Group has announced new investments. The company said that it had signed agreements with four domestic developers. We are talking about Zillion Whales, Mobilate, Game Garden and Red Brix Wall.

RovercraftZillion Whales — formerly one of the game studios of St. Petersburg i-Free.

  • I started with strategies, races and battles. Now the main product of the company is the Mushroom Wars series. The second part, according to DataMagic, earns up to $40 thousand per month on mobile.
  • Mobirate is a studio from Ulyanovsk, a pioneer of mobile development in Russia. The company is known for such games as Parking Mania, Dead Ahead, Rovercraft. The monthly earnings of the studio with IAP reach up to $ 150 thousand, according to independent analytics.
  • The main profile of Game Garden is farms. The company has produced projects for both social platforms and mobile. The main source of the company’s income on the App Store and Goolge Play are the Farmdale and Fairy Kingdom projects. Their combined monthly earnings can reach $70 thousand per month.
  • Red Brix Wall is a young studio based in St. Petersburg and Ivanovo. Her central project is a clone of Heroes Charge called Battle Arena: Heroes Adventure. Thanks to him, by the end of November, the company can reach a peak earnings of $ 100 thousand.

The transaction amounts are not called. However, we can also talk about tranches in the amount of one and a half million dollars. Recall, a year ago, about the same amount Mail.Ru invested in the Russian-Finnish studio Panzerdog.

It is also not reported on what conditions the companies received the money. By myself Mail.Ru Games Ventures (MRGV) positions itself as a profile gaming investor that helps developers with the development and promotion of their products. MRGV puts a special emphasis on the latter, saying that it will help with attracting users, creating creatives and interacting with platforms.

The deals may well end with the acquisition of a controlling stake in the studios from the outside Mail.Ru Group. At least, this is how the investment history of the Penza studio BIT.GAMES ended.

Recall that at first MRGV also invested in it. Six months later Mail.Ru The Group announced the acquisition of 51% of the shares of the team that developed the box office blockbuster “Guild of Heroes”.

As noted then Ilya Karpinsky, Director Mail.Ru Games Ventures: “Our strategy is to buy a minority stake, bring the company to KPI and consolidate on mutually beneficial terms with the founders!”.
