Korean publisher Netmarble reported for the 1st quarter of 2018. According to its results, the company’s revenues and profits have significantly decreased compared to last year. Netmarble explained this by slowing down game sales and delays in the release of new titles.
In the 1st quarter of 2018, the Korean company earned $475 million, which is 26.2% less than a year earlier.
The profit amounted to $74 million, a decrease of 46% compared to the 1st quarter of 2017.
The company noted that a significant part of the quarterly profit was made up of dividends received by Netmarble on NCsoft shares. Netmarble and NCsoft became each other’s shareholders in 2015, exchanging securities worth about $360 million.
The mobile role-playing MMO Lineage 2 Revolution remained the Netmarble revenue driver. It generated 35% of all revenue.
