Game designer Brian Hicks announced his resignation from the position of creative director of the survival MMO action movie DayZ, which is being developed by the Czech studio Bohemia Interactive. In a farewell message, the game designer wrote that he no longer needed the project.

According to Hicks, the game will continue to develop successfully without his participation.

“I feel like all of our dreams of what DayZ should be will come true soon,” Hicks said.

Brian Hicks noted that since last year he began to gradually move away from managing the development of the project, and recently he has been consulting for free the leading designer of DayZ, Peter Unhurried (Peter Nespešný).

Hicks also revealed that he plans to return to the U.S. to be closer to his family and “play DayZ as much as possible.”
