The Kickstarter platform has launched an offshoot of Drip, which is positioned as a rival to the crowdfunding service Patreon.

Unlike one-time Kickstarter campaigns, Drip will allow authors to receive uninterrupted funding from fans in exchange for early access to materials and exclusive content.

The creators promise to seamlessly integrate Drip into the Kickstarter community, which has almost 14 million users.

After registering for the Drip, the authors will have from 7 to 30 days of the start period, during which they will be able to assign access levels to content for their first subscribers and conduct something like a small Kickstarter campaign.

The company hopes that the start-up period will help creators get support and stimulate their initiatives.

Drip is open to authors of all disciplines that are on Kickstarter, including video game creators.

The main competitor of the Drip platform Patreon was launched in 2013. It is popular among artists, musicians, photographers and anyone who promotes their work through the web.
