The annual Google I/O Developer Conference is approaching and is increasingly overgrown with rumors. There was information that the fifth version of Android – Key Lime Pie will not be presented on it.

According to Talk Android, the delay in the announcement is due to Google’s desire to give manufacturers a “respite”, the opportunity to properly prepare for the release of the new system. In principle, an understandable desire, because 40% of all Android devices still have Android 2.3. In addition, it is possible that budget devices are still being produced for this system. A later release of the platform will give vendors time to rebuild.

The latest cardinal OS update – Jelly Bean, released last summer, despite the good dynamics, now stands on only a quarter of all Android devices.

According to Gadgetronica sources, you should also not wait for the Nexus 5 at the Google event. Most likely, the search giant will present an updated version of the Nexus 4 with 32 GB.

Google I/O 2013 will be held on May 15-17 in San Francisco.
