Jason Schreier, who wrote the bestseller “Blood, Sweat and Pixels”, presented his next work about the gaming industry — “PRESS RESET: Ruin and Recovery in the Video Game Industry”. Now he will tell you what happens to developers after the studios are closed.

On the pages of Schreier’s new book are the fates of former employees of a dozen gaming companies like Irrational Games, Visceral Games and 38 Studios. These stories are not always sad. Some of the developers were able to cope with the difficulties and start living on. Nevertheless, many have left the industry forever.

“PRESS RESET” will reveal a lot of personal and corporate dramas. Abusive behavior in the workplace, non-payment of salaries, takeover of companies and even ideas about starting a business that can destroy the offending studio.

Along the way, Schreier wonders: why, in the most successful time for the gaming industry, has it become so difficult to consistently earn money on creating new projects? Can all this change, or is it too late?

In the USA and Europe, “PRESS RESET” will be available on May 11, 2021. In Russia — a little later (presumably next summer). The book will again be taken up by the Bombora publishing house, which in 2017 also released Schreier’s first work.
