A nostalgic journey through the history of game design has begun: the famous developer Sid Meier has published his memoirs. Under the cover is the forty-year career of the creator of Civilization, reflections on the creative process and the legendary rules of game development.

Exactly six months after the announcement of “Memoirs of Sid Meyer!: Life in computer games” under the authorship of Meyer himself finally appeared on bookshelves. However, they can be read only in English so far.

In his book, Meyer shared his memories of how the gaming industry was born. Now readers can go all this way with him: visit the opening of the MicroProse studio, look behind the scenes of the creation of classic games like Pirates!, Railroad Tycoon and Civilization, as well as see many other iconic things.

You can purchase the book in both electronic and printed versions. The price of the memoirs, excluding delivery, is $21 (the digital version is $14.99). It is still unknown whether the memoirs will be published in Russia.

Sid Meyer is the founder of MicroProse and Firaxis studios, whom numerous publications have repeatedly called one of the most influential people in the industry. In 2006, he also received his own star in the San Francisco Gaming Walk of Fame.
