For a whole week, the full PC version of Assassin’s Creed: Unity will be available for free in the Uplay store. Ubisoft is holding this action “in view of the devastating fire in the Cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris.”

The game is distributed from April 17 to April 25. It will always remain in the user’s library.

According to Ubisoft on its official website, the campaign is designed to “give players the opportunity to experience the grandeur and beauty of the cathedral,” while the real building will be closed for reconstruction.

In Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Notre Dame is modeled on a 1:1 scale with maximum accuracy. Many media outlets and players have already drawn attention to this fact, suggesting that the Paris City Hall use Ubisoft’s developments in the reconstruction of a real cathedral.

Despite the fact that the mayor’s office may not need the services of a game studio, Ubisoft still wants to provide all possible assistance. She donated €500,000 for the restoration of Notre Dame.

The fire in the cathedral began on the evening of April 15 and lasted 12 hours. During this time, the spire, the roof and the elements of the wooden decor were lost in the fire. Inside, the cathedral was almost intact, as were most of its relics. Nevertheless, the reconstruction of the building may last five to six years, writes the Associated Press.
