Peripherals and consoles earned a total of $7.5 billion for the year (an increase of 15%). Iron alone, not counting the periphery, accounted for $5.1 billion (an increase of 8%).

The most successful platform of the year, both in terms of the number of boxes sold and in terms of money, was the Nintendo Switch.

Sales of games directly amounted to $35.8 billion (an increase of 18%). It is unclear from the published data whether earnings from mobile were taken into account in this amount.
