The number of programs in app stores is rapidly increasing, and at the same time the dynamics of their growth is also growing, according to adeven analysts in their annual report.
In 2012 alone, 380 thousand new apps appeared on the App Store. In 2013, there will be significantly more of them. Adeven believes that developers will release about 435 thousand programs on the Apple platform. The problem is that no one will ever know about most of them.
According to TechCrunch, citing a study by the marketing company Surikate, 81% of British App Store visitors are not looking for apps outside the top 50. Adeven also found that most of last year’s apps most likely passed users by. In December alone, 64% of applications were not rated. Thus, they all turned into “zombie apps”.
This is how adeven calls those programs that have no chance of being found. Moreover, their “visibility” suffers not only in the tops, but also in the search. But even if someone has rated the application and it is even in the top, the situation will not improve much. After all, we remember that there are 200 positions in each App Store chart, but few people go below 50. And, according to Adeven, the growth of the App Store will only worsen this situation.
The sad situation in the mobile app market is also reflected by the following: 75% of users who have downloaded a particular title have never heard of it before. As they say, do not forget to work with the media.
