The turnover of the American video game market in June this year reached $765 million, an increase of 7% compared to June 2016, the analytical company NPD Group reports.
Gaming equipment sales rose 27% to $231 million last month.
The main source of revenue in this segment was the Nintendo Switch and the new slim version of the PlayStation 4 in gold colors with a 1 terabyte hard drive.
Console game sales increased by 1% to $343 million, and PC games generated $32 million, an increase of 2% compared to June 2016.
The best-selling games in June in the United States were the fighting games Tekken 7 and Injustice 2.
NPD also notes good sales of the Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy platformer on PlayStation 4 and the fighting game Arms for Nintendo Switch. The last one sold 256 thousand copies.
A 1% decrease was noted only in the segment of gaming components, whose sales amounted to $159 million.
