In terms of the number of unique sessions in Hearthstone on PC, it overtook Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Overwatch in July,” Newzoo research company claims in its latest report.

Hearthstone обогнала Counter-Strike и Overwatch по числу сессий в месяц

July turned out to be a relatively hot month for the Top 20 hardcore PC games, which Newzoo staff prepared based on the number of unique gaming sessions in North America and Europe. There were a lot of permutations.

The most significant are three.

The first is Hearthstone’s entry into the top three (and this is even before the release of the “Party in the Garage” set). Newzoo notes that this happened thanks to a new event that encourages users to invite friends to the game.

Blizzard, in general, feels very confident in the top. In it, the company has three projects in high positions. In addition to Hearthstone, World of Warcraft and Overwatch show an excellent result in terms of the number of sessions, which fell out of the Top 5 in July (they say those players who left LoL in June returned to it a month later).

The company’s MOBA, however, is not on the chart.

The second notable permutation is the growing interest in the daughter of Half-Life 2 – Garry’s Mod. The project, which was born as a modification to the legendary shooter, continues to enjoy the attention of players as a separate game.

The third permutation is the rise of Rust survival by five positions, for which the authors of Garry’s Mod, the British Facepunch Studios, are also responsible. The game, which has been in early access since December 2013, continues to improve and interest players.
