In Russia, they are trying to ban video games again. This time, the chairman of the Right to Arms organization made a proposal to certify and remove “destructive games” from access.

Human rights activist Vyacheslav Vaneev made such a statement during the broadcast of the radio station “Moscow Speaks”. In his opinion, today people receive too much negative information — including from “games”. Moreover, Vaneev is sure that “shooting games destroy the human psyche and make [people] maniacs.”

In defense of this position, the chairman of the “Right to Arms” points to the owners of Internet businesses who allegedly forbid their children to play video games and even communicate on social networks.

With whom, at least, I was able to communicate, they significantly limited. It's a business for them. Unfortunately, other people's children are a source of income. The problem of society is that it is our children who shoot at us sometimes. I would raise the issue of certifying these games and banning destructive games. This will be the improvement of our society, the reduction and prevention of such cases.

Vyacheslav Vaneev

Note that the broadcast took place the day after the tragedy in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Then the 18-year-old shooter killed several people, and later committed suicide. According to the investigation, the young man was fond of firearms, video games and stalking. A criminal case has been initiated.
