In the Play Store, it is now possible to compare several applications with each other on the same screen. While the function is in test mode, however, Google itself does not say when it will become available to a wide range of users and whether it will be at all.Attention was drawn to this by the Android Police portal.

The journalists also published a gif that demonstrates exactly how the new Play Store feature works.

The section with comparisons is located under the feedback panel on the page of an application. The user sees several similar applications, under each of which their features and characteristics are marked (for example, whether the game is the editor’s choice, how much other users appreciated it, and so on).

This allows you to immediately compare several programs from the same category without leaving the page of a specific application.

According to Android Police, now the app comparison function is available as part of A/B testing in the Play Store version 22.4.28. Nothing is known about the full release for all users yet.

In the future, this feature will allow users to better navigate a wide variety of programs, and can also help developers distinguish their product from competitors’ applications (or, conversely, take away their audience).
