Two months ago, the search company introduced Google Play game services, a whole set of tools for game developers. The other day, the company shared his first successes.

Recall that Google Play game services allows you to implement into the game:

  • three regularly-updated leader boards at once (for a day, a week and all the time);
  • real-time multiplayer with automatic selection of players;
  • awards;
  • cloud saving, which is distributed including on the web and iOS;
  • linking to Google+;
  • the ability to deprive all the “yummy” players who download the game not from the official store.

One of the first teams to implement the toolkit were Concrete Software and Glu, which recently reported on the first results of collaboration with Google Play game services.

According to the developers from Concrete Software, after the integration of multiplayer, leaderboards and achievements into the PBA Bowling Challenge, the average length of sessions in the game increased by 15%.

Glu, having implemented Google Play game services in Eternity Warriors 2, noted a 40% increase in retention of players over 7 days and a 20% increase in the number of daily sessions.

So at the moment, the company is massively integrating Google tools into its projects.
