Ludei has announced that its HTML5 platform of the same name now supports 3D.

One of the first news from hot San Francisco, where the GDC developer conference is already in full swing, turned out to be no less hot than the weather in California: Ludei opened the doors to the 3D world for HTML5 mobile developers.

According to Ludei Executive Director Eneko Knorr, the developers have implemented 3D support through the WebGL standard, the browser equivalent of OpenGL. WebGL supports almost any iOS or Android device. So now developers, creating a three-dimensional game, “will not have to worry about stuffing gadgets.”

Moreover, according to Ludei, developers of three-dimensional games, including those who have historically made projects for consoles and PCs, using the functionality of the platform, can port their three-dimensional titles to iOS and Android.

The authors of the project say that their three-dimensional HTML5 applications are not inferior to native ones in terms of performance. According to our data from Mobile World Congress 2013, where Ludei demonstrated the performance of its platform in complex two-dimensional applications, the platform is indeed very productive.

The problem is that Ludei is a very private service that compiles applications to the cloud, and not directly on the developer’s machine. It is not known what is inside the platform on which the application is running, just as it is not known exactly how the programs offered by the platform’s clients are assembled in it.
