Gameloft has opened its own digital marketing agency and started promoting its titles with in-game advertising.
The decision is dictated by the fact that the financial results of the French company over the past 12 months have been “ambiguous” and “disappointing,” according to CEO Michel Guillemot.
“We expect that advertising will become a significant new business direction for us and will increase the shareholder value of the company in the long term,” said Guillemot.
Gameloft is expected to launch about 20 new titles within a year.
