The French company Gameloft continues restructuring. A studio in New Zealand got “under the knife”.
160 employees lost their jobs, according to the Gamasutra resource. The New Zealand branch of the company developed the titles Zoo Rescue, My Little Pony and Littlest Pet Shop.
Ilya Kazakov, Gameloft PR Manager in Russia, commented on the news: “Over the past year, we have been actively working to improve internal efficiency and optimize the company’s structure. As a result, some studios were closed and new ones were opened. One of the last open divisions is an office in Belarus and Nigeria. The mobile market is a volatile environment, so players in this market need to change.”
Recall that Gameloft launched an optimization program in September 2015.
