Despite the Christmas season, digital sales in December 2018 showed both quarterly and annual declines.

Counter Strike: Global Offensive
This can be judged based on the data published by SuperData for December last year.

According to the company, digital sales for the month amounted to $ 9 billion. For comparison:

  • in November 2018, the market generated $9.05 billion;
  • in December 2017, the market generated $10 billion.

The main reason for the annual drop in revenue is the reduction in sales of PC games by 21%. The revenue of the mobile segment also decreased, but it is not specified how much. At the same time, console revenue increased by 12%.

Fortnite feels best on the market right now. December was the most successful month in the history of the game. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds also performed well, which sold 2.49 million copies in a month, and Counter Strike: Global Offensive, which received a push after switching to frituplay. SuperData estimates the latter’s earnings for November-December at $49 million.
