With the growth of the mobile app market, not only the leaders of iOS and Android, but also the middle-class studios are beginning to brag about numbers. Future Games of London is one of them.
Recently, the number of total downloads of its games on iOS, Google Play and Amazon App Store reached 50 million. The company ambitiously declares that in 2013 it plans to generate another 40 million.
“We expect to achieve 50%-100% growth in direct downloads on smartphones and tablets,” Ian Harper, managing director of Future Games of London, said in an interview with GamesIndustry. – “So we are waiting for 30-40 million installations in 2013.”
Considering that the company has been going to the current 50 million for four years, and the last 5 million has hardly been gaining 11 months, these plans seem at least fantastic.
Hungry Shark Evolution“High installations will provide two of our new AAA frituplein projects, which will be released in the second half of 2013.
In the first half of the year, we are counting on the recently launched Hungry Shark Evolution on iOS, which will also be released on Android,” Harper said.
At the moment, the company is closely monitoring Google Play, believing that it will continue its rapid growth. One of its prerequisites will be the global supply of Android smartphones, which, according to the studio’s management, will reach 500 million in 2013.
The London-based company is also interested in entering the Asian market: “we believe that localization in terms of language and social adaptation is very important for Asian territories, and we are already working on this in projects preparing for release.”
