The authors of Fortnite have launched a crossover with the yet—to-be-released Gearbox – Borderlands 3 game. A new location has appeared in the “royal battle” straight from the famous series of loot shooters.

Earlier, Epic Games released a mysterious announcement on Twitter with the hashtag #FortniteXMayhem. Note that the Borderlands 3 advertising campaign contained the tagline “Mayhem is coming” — “Lawlessness is coming”.

The chaos in Fortnite broke out this morning.

A rift leading to a new location – a section of the planet Pandora from Borderlands — has become available to players in Battle Royale. Its visual range differs from the cartoon style of Fortnite.

A new mode is also being launched as part of the event. It will allow players to get cosmetic rewards and at the same time buy a psycho skin and a backpack of Borderlands series Mascots in the Battle Royale store.

All this is an obvious advertising campaign for the game, which will be released on September 13. On PC, Borderlands 3 will appear exclusively in the Epic Games Store. By the way, its buyers in the store will receive a “Psycho Set” for Fortnite with the aforementioned skins for free. The promotion will last until December 31.

Let’s add that crossovers in Fortnite are not uncommon. The game has already distinguished itself with a temporary mode where players fought with the main villain of the films “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Finale”. Also, skins from “John Wick” appeared in her store. And one of the crossovers — with the mobile Infinity Blade — influenced even the basic mechanics of Fortnite. Influenced in a bad way: esports players complained about the imbalance due to the too powerful Infinity Blade.
