Last week Epic Games updated the matchmaking system in Fortnite. It caused a number of concerns among the players, and now the company is in a hurry to calm them down in its blog.

The new matchmaking system gathers players from all platforms, distributing them by experience and skill level. Owners of mobile devices, consoles and PCs can gather in one match.

Not all players agreed that this system is really fair. In their reviews of Epic Games, they pointed out the difference in the technical characteristics of the platforms. The frame rate and image quality on different devices may not match, not to mention the responsiveness of the controls. All this can affect the outcome of the match.

But the “epics” said that all these nuances will be taken into account:

“The new matchmaking system takes into account the difference in skill levels on different platforms and input devices and groups players according to their skills. Our goal is to make the matches as honest as possible, so we take into account the specifics of each platform.”

“We carefully analyze the matches and your feedback. We are ready to make adjustments to guarantee you a fair game,” they added.

But, according to Eurogamer, a number of players are already trying to exploit this system. For example, experienced Fortnite users register new accounts to get into a match with newcomers. Epic Games plans to identify such players by analyzing matches, and then “take appropriate measures.”
