At the international Comic Con festival in San Diego, it became known about the unexpected alliance of the seller of collectibles QMx and the developer of mobile games Spark Plug Games. The companies joined forces to create Firefly Online, an MMO for iOS and Android.
The game will be based on the cult sci-fi series “Firefly” (Firefly) and the movie “Mission Serenity“.
They promise that Firefly Online will become the online heir of Elite. The gamer will act as the captain of a spaceship, will be able to recruit a team, as well as communicate, trade and fight with other players. On the official website of the game, it is already possible to register the name of your character and subscribe to updates.
Creating mobile games is a completely new area of activity for QMx, which sells figurines of famous heroes and characters. Spark Plug Games studio, which previously specialized in casual games, is more experienced in this matter: it has not gained wide popularity behind the Plight of the Zombie and Witch’s Workshop: Open For Business.
The release of Firefly Online is scheduled for next year.
