Zuckerberg’s social network summed up the gaming results of the outgoing year by presenting its own selection of projects that it considered the best.
Art: Knights & Brides
The main surprise is that Facebook named Clash of Kings the game of the year by the Chinese company ELEX.
The project, we recall, is a copy of Game of War, which is a clone of Kingdoms of Camelot.
The game, however, has something to boast about. Today it is one of the highest-grossing games in the world (as of December 9, it is included in 69 regions in the box office overall top 5 of Google Play), and the number of its total downloads has exceeded 65 million.
The best web projects were named:
- Best Fiends from Seriously
- Knights & Brides by Vizor Interactive
- Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff by TinyCo
- Hot Shot Casino Slots from Scientific Games Interactive
- Monster Busters: Hexa Blast from PlayDog Soft
- Nords: Heroes of the North by Plarium
- Vegas Downtown Slots from Playtika
- Yahtzee with Buddies by Scopely
It’s funny, but Best Fiends received the award, despite the fact that it works on the Unity Web Player plugin, which is no longer supported by Unity and Chrome.
Knights & Brides became the only game in all collections from developers from the former Soviet Union. Let us remind you that Vizor Interactive is located in Belarus.
Facebook named the best mobile games of 2015:
- Cooking Dash 2016 by Glu
- Invasion by Tap4Fun
- Paradise Bay by King
- Empires & Allies by Zynga
- Angry Birds 2 by Rovio
This selection turned out to be very interesting, because I personally had the impression that games were included in it, based on the names of the companies that made them. On the other hand, it was probably impossible to ignore the crazy dynamics of Angry Birds 2 downloads or the fact that Zynga turned out to be a strong and money-making clone of Clash of Clans.
Awards for the best integration with Facebook received:
- Alphabear by Spry Fox
- Empire: Four Kingdoms by Goodgame
- League of Legends by Riot Games
- Sony’s PlayStation 4
- Pirate Kings by JellyButton
- Blossom Blast Saga by King
In this nomination, Facebook explained why it chose specific projects/platforms. For example, the developers of the social network liked the sharing mechanism in Alphabear. In the game, the characters – bears – generate all sorts of phrases using words entered by the player. Sometimes it turns out funny. And such phrases can just be shared.
The award for the best use of Instagram was given to the Clash of Clans game, the number of subscribers of which in the photo network is 2.7 million people.
The Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain campaign was recognized as the best advertising campaign, whose video, timed to coincide with the launch of the game, received 8 thousand likes and 3 thousand shares.
The League of Legends game was called the best page, which over the past year has increased 5 million subscribers, reaching a total of 13 million people. The art, which is featured on it weekly, regularly receives more than 60 thousand views.
Facebook also named companies that are worth looking at. Among the relative newcomers – FINCON, Scopely and PlayRaven – Activision unexpectedly entered.
