Over the past year, Facebook Gaming has strengthened its position in the gaming streaming market. By the end of December, the site’s share in this segment reached 8.5%.

For comparison: at the end of 2018, Facebook‘s market share was 3.1%. The changes are indicated by the StreamElements and Arsenal data.gg for the fourth quarter of 2019.

By the end of the year, the hours of viewing broadcasts on Facebook Gaming also increased. The growth is significant — by 210%. The total number of hours was 102 million . In December 2018, it did not exceed 32 million.

As follows from the report, not only Facebook showed growth. Some other streaming services have also increased their market share, though not by much.

  • YouTube Gaming — up to 27.9% (compared to 27.5% in December 2018).
  • Mixer has up to 2.6% (compared to 2%).
  • But Twitch‘s share decreased from 67.1% in December 2018 to 61% in December 2019.

However, in terms of the hours viewed, all these platforms have grown, and Twitch is the unequivocal leader:

  • he has 728 million viewed hours;
  • YouTube Gaming has 332 million;
  • Mixer has 31 million .

The total number of hours viewed on four platforms increased by 12% at the end of the year.
