Former CEO of Telltale Kevin Bruner has filed a lawsuit against the management of the gaming company. He accused the board of Telltale of violating the terms of the contract and not allowing access to information about the financial situation of the studio.

Kevin Bruner resigned as head of the studio in March 2017, but remained on the board of directors. Last September, Telltale appointed Peter Hawley, who previously worked at Zynga, as the new CEO. After that, Bruner was expelled from the board.

According to Kevin, the current contract obligated Telltale to provide him with information about the studio’s shares when Bruner was preparing to sell his securities. But the board of Telltale broke off all contacts with Bruner, leaving him without support.

The lawsuit states that “the effect of Bruner’s removal from the board of directors was that the plaintiff was deprived of access to data on Telltale’s financial condition and the value of its shares.”

Telltale Reaction

Telltale’s lawyer called the former executive’s lawsuit “an act of revenge against a company that is already experiencing difficulties.”

“The studio is now trying to get out of the crisis, where the management decisions of the plaintiff led it,” the lawyer noted.

Telltale had hoped for the dismissal of the claim, but the judge decided to launch an investigation. The hearing on the case will be held on July 17.

Kevin Bruner has earned an ambiguous reputation as CEO of Telltale. In March 2018, two publications published materials about the plight of employees of the studio-developer of interactive stories. According to former Telltale employees, Bruner demanded overtime and harshly criticized any new ideas and initiatives of subordinates.
