3D Realms and Interceptor have announced a port of the Duke Nukem II platformer for iOS. The upcoming release is timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the game.
3D Realms, despite the failure of Duke Nukem Forever, somehow brought to the final by the Gearbox team, continues to exploit its iconic franchise. This time, the second part of Duke Nukem got on the “surgical table” – a cheerful platformer about the invasion of aliens. The game is already being ported to iOS by employees of the Danish Interceptor, famous for the announcement of Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded, which they have been doing since 2010.
Duke Nukem II will practically not differ from the original – VGA graphics, 32 levels, several types of weapons and a cool duke in the title role. However, optimization is in place: in the port, a place was found for touch sticks at the corners of the screen, and an updated soundtrack, and additional art, and a record board
The game will appear on digital shelves in April. The price of the issue is $1.99.
