The launch of the Epic Games Store also affected the Discord policy.

In their post today, the developers of the Discord messenger announced two major innovations.

  • From 2019, their game distribution platform will take only 10% from game sales. The remaining 90% of the revenue will go to developers.
  • The platform will become more open. More teams will be able to publish games on it.

The Epic Games Store is not mentioned in the post itself, but it is obvious that the Discord management made such a decision precisely because of its launch. Recall that the Epic Games platform takes only 12% from sales.
