Good news came from Kiev last night. Without too much fanfare, Tatem Games announced that the number of downloads of its mobile games has surpassed the 20 million mark.
As Nadezhda Sidorenko, Tatem Games Marketing director, told us, the main driver of growth was the recent relaunch of the freemium version of Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter on Google Play.
Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter – port of Carnivores 2, PC games of 1999″At the same time, about 70% of the 20 million are purchases of our games in the Apple App Store, which remains a priority market for Tatem Games for now,” Nadezhda noted.
Tatem Games Studio is the successor and keeper of the “creative heritage” of the Action Forms team, the authors of such projects as Chasm: The Rift, Vivisector, Suspended Animation and, of course, the Carnivores series.
In 2009, Igor Karev’s team switched to “mobile” rails. In the first two years, five games were released, and the number of downloads reached 7 million. Currently, the studio has more than 10 projects in its portfolio. There are two offices – in Kiev and Nikolaev, and the company is expanding rapidly.
The studio has big plans for 2013. “We are going to release a freemium social game and continue the development of the Carnivores brand,” Nadezhda told us.
