Today it became known about two difficult events for a startup at once: its vice president for product development left Ouya, and the company that created games for the platform closed.

Muffi Ghadiali, who left Ouya, was not only its vice president, but also one of the founders. It was also Muffy who assembled a team of engineers who later created the console itself.

Why he left is not clear. In connection with his resignation, Ouya itself states that the company is currently actively working on the next phase of business development and its products.

As for the closed studios, we are talking about U4iA, which announced support for Ouya back in 2012, considering then that it was the future.

Most likely, these events are related to the fact that it is impossible to make money on the development of games for the console. Despite the fact that the project scored about $ 8.6 million on Kickstarter, instead of the required $ 950 thousand, having received a starting audience of 60 thousand people, it was not enough.

One of the largest exclusives of Ouya – Towerfall – sold only 2,000 copies in the first month of sales. Other developers are also not happy with the sales. At best, they receive several thousand dollars from the project.
