For every thousand new iOS apps, there are a dozen tvOS apps and possibly one Apple Watch app.
This was stated to Business Insider by Tim Anglade, Vice President of Product at Realm.
According to him, when the clock came out, there was a small influx of such programs. Today, when the Apple Watch is perceived as a companion device to the iPhone, developers do not see an opportunity to make money on content for this type of device.
Perhaps the situation will improve when the watch becomes a more independent device on which it will be possible to run applications that are not tied to the iPhone (Apple has plans for this). In the meantime, according to Englade, developers are more interested in working on programs for iOS and tvOS.
Realm is a company offering an alternative to the SQLite database of the same name. Realm claims that its database is used by more than 100 thousand developers whose applications are launched by more than 1 billion mobile users.
