The head of Nazara Technologies, Manish Agarwal, believes that the deal is beneficial for both sides, since the Indian market has good prospects, and the Cut the Rope brand has already shown its potential in Western markets.

Denis Morozov, head of ZeptoLab development department, commented on the deal in an interview with VentureBeat. He said that the release in India is part of an overall strategy: the Cut the Rope brand is going to conquer new markets. Morozov also shared that the audience of the game in India is declining, so the brand plans to develop this direction. “If you look at the number of monthly active users, then two years ago in India it was 1 million, and now it has dropped to 700 thousand,” says Morozov. – This year we are solving the problem. In December we will release Cut the Rope: Magic, and now we will develop in India. We believe that India is the next China.”

As part of the development of the franchise, ZeptoLab will also continue to produce TV series, toys and films. Earlier this year, ZeptoLab announced a full-length cartoon about the main character of the series – Am Nyama.

Nazara Technologies was founded in 2000 in Mumbai. The company produces a variety of mobile content, from games to ringtones and screensavers. According to the VentureBeat resource, the total MAU of the studio’s projects is 33 million users.
