At the end of June, we wrote about the fact that Crytek is experiencing serious financial difficulties. It was about the possible bankruptcy of the company. Then its representatives dismissed this information, called it a rumor that has nothing to do with reality. The other day there was an explanation of all the difficulties that the company faced.
Recall that the rumors did not arise from scratch. A number of world gaming publications a little more than a month ago received from their sources data on delays and non-payment of salaries in several studios of the German company. In addition, only in the last week it was officially left by: producer of Crysis 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome Mike Read and a leading specialist in working with graphics Tiago Sousa.
Be that as it may, Crytek continues to deny financial problems, but in its official appeal published last Friday, it tried to explain the situation.
According to the official position, the company is now in a transitional stage. Crytek is evolving from a developer into an online publisher, revising all its long-term development strategies. The latter was expected to require new resources, which, as reported, she received.
The press release claims that all the rumors were related to the fact that information about the restructuring of the company did not properly reach employees.
The latter, however, does not cancel the departure of key employees to competing companies. On the other hand, now this can be explained not by delays in wages, but by the fact that Crytek simply does not need such people anymore.
