Following Epic Games, Crytek, the company that developed CryEngine, announced a change in monetization policy (with its help, games such as Crysis and Warface were created).

A monthly CryEngine subscription per person costs half as much as on Unreal Engine 4: $9.9 instead of $19. For this money, an independent team (the service is designed only for indie) will receive all the tools that were used to create Ryse: Son of Rome.

Recall that you can use the full version of the engine for free, if we are talking about a non-commercial product.
