The British publishing house plans to transfer one of the central titles of the ancient Amiga to mobile rails – the cheerful arcade strategy Cannon Fodder.

Codemasters is going to enter the mobile market for the third time. This time, the British say, everything is serious.

Recall that the company released its first iOS game in 2009. The pioneer was the F1 2009 Game simulator, which already at that time was of no interest to users. By this point, everyone who was interested in racing in one way or another was playing Need For Speed Undercover and Need for Speed Shift.

Codemasters returned to the mobile market for the second time in October 2011, releasing a strange platformer Dizzy – Prince of the Yolkfolk.

Far from the classic management, high price and orientation to the children’s audience did not give the project a chance.

And last week Codemasters presented a remake of Colin McRae Rally 2.0 – Colin McRae Rally. It is premature to talk about its results, but at this stage it is the most successful release of the British. By now, the game has managed to light up in the paid top 10 App Store in 47 countries.

But Colin McRae Rally is not the only title that the company is going to develop on mobile platforms. According to Gary Rowe, vice president of the Codemasters digital division, there are plans to create a mobile TOCA Touring Car and Cannon Feeder.

TOCA Touring Car is a racing series, the golden time of which, as well as the Colin McRae Rally projects, fell at the end of the nineties – the beginning of the noughties.

As for Cannon Feeder, it is the arcade predecessor of Commandos born in 1993. In the game, the user took over the leadership of a small detachment of recruits who needed to clean up this or that territory from the Viet Cong or Soviet soldiers.

In total, about 60 developers are currently working on mobile projects at Codemasters.
