The Japanese company GungHo, 8 months after the release of the Chinese version of Puzzle & Dragons, is going to close it.
The termination of support is scheduled for March 15, 2017, Pocket Gamer reports. However, according to App Annie, the game has already been removed from the App Store.
The version of the game for China was launched by GungHo together with the largest Chinese publisher – Tencent. It appeared in the app stores in July last year.
In the best days in the Chinese App Store, the game ranked 135th in the overall box office top. But sales of the project were constantly falling, the game did not reach a stable plateau.
The project’s failure can be explained both by the thesis of serious differences between the Japanese and Chinese markets, and by the fact that by now the GungHo project, which became one of the first mobile projects to earn $ 1 billion, is outdated. The game was released on the Japanese market in September 2012.
