Chinese studio Rekoo has announced that it is opening a European office in east London on the territory of a special British technopark Tech City. This is reported by Pocketgamer. Rekoo is the first Chinese company that is going to open a representative office in the park.
Initially, only 10 people will work in the English representative office, but in three years they promise to increase the staff to 25 employees. Rekoo is considered one of the most promising and active Chinese companies. The studio is engaged in a variety of social games for Tencent, Facebook, smartphones and phones.
Rekoo has long established itself in the Western market, especially in the USA, where developers are trying to earn the most money. Coming to London clearly shows that Rekoo also wants to take a leading position in Europe. The Chinese do not hide the fact that they want to lure local specialists to the studio, as well as try to find new business opportunities.
Curiously, the announcement from Rekoo sounded just at the time when the Mayor of London Boris Johnson went to China on a trade mission.
