Again without Tencent and NetEase.
“King of Chaos” is one of Tencent’s highest—grossing gamesReuters reports that Chinese regulators have given the go-ahead for the appearance of the second selection of games in China since the resumption of gaming licensing in December last year.
According to the data published by the State Administration of China for Press, Publications, Radio, Film and Television (SAPPRFT), 84 projects received permission to publish.
As in the first list of approved games, which was published at the very end of December, there are no projects from the two largest Chinese gaming companies — Tencent and NetEase.
This can be explained both by chance and by the desire of the Chinese government to reduce the influence of these companies on the domestic gaming market through state regulation.
At the moment, there are about 7000 projects in the queue to receive the identification number required for the publication of the game in the country. If SAPPRFT continues to work at the same pace (80 projects per two weeks), then by the end of 2019, only about 2000 projects will be able to come out in the country.
