The revenues of the Chinese gaming market will increase from $26 billion to $35 billion by 2021, according to the analytical company Niko Partners.
Experts predict the greatest growth in the segment of mobile games.
In the next 4 years, the number of people playing on portable platforms will grow from 506 million to 699 million, and mobile revenues will account for 58% of the total gaming market in China.
The share of online games on PC will increase by 1.5%, and the MOBA genre will be equal in popularity with the leading MMORPG so far.
According to Niko Partners, today 44% of China’s population — about 600 million people – play games. By 2021, the share of gamers in China will grow to 54%. Also, by this time, 90% of the people of China will be Internet users.
As part of the study, Niko Partners interviewed 1,000 players and conducted interviews with representatives of major gaming companies, mobile developers and payment services in China.
