China’s largest gaming conference — ChinaJoy 2020 — will take place. The organizers did not cancel the event, despite the coronavirus pandemic.
This is reported by Abacus News with reference to the organizing committee of ChinaJoy 2020. The latter confirmed today that the conference will be held in Shanghai from July 31 to August 3. All its visitors and speakers must confirm that they are not carriers of COVID-19.
Nevertheless, it is unknown which companies will agree to attend the exhibition. Of the largest, Tencent and NetEase are expected. However, earlier this year there was a wave of cancellations of industry conferences, because publishers and developers refused to participate in them.
By the way, Tokyo Game Show 2020 in Japan was canceled yesterday due to COVID-19. The event was scheduled for September 24-27.
China has become the first hotbed of the spread of coronavirus. According to WHO, the disease was detected on December 31 last year. China has spent several months in isolation. During this time, 83 thousand people fell ill in the country, more than 4.6 thousand died.
