Yesterday, November 19, the announcement of the launch of a new Finnish game studio — Redhill Games. Most of the founders held senior positions in Wargaming back in September.

  • The CEO and co—founder of Redhill Games is Matias Myllyrinne. At Wargaming, he was executive vice president of development. Prior to that, Mathias served as the CEO of Remedy for 15 years.
  • The executive producer and co—founder of Redhill Games is Miloš Jeřábek. In the “tank” company, he was the director of development of the PC version of World of Tanks. Also a native of Remedy, where he worked on Quantum Break for three years.
  • Ekaterina Dolgova is the Chief Operating Officer and co—founder of Redhill Games. She has been the head of HR at Wargaming for a long time. Prior to that, she worked for Cisco Systems for seven years.
  • The technical director and co—founder of Redhill Games is Mikko Uromo. He worked in a similar position in Wargaming from September 2016 to July 2018. He held the same position in Remedy at the time of the launch of Quantum Break.

In addition to the management team, the new studio attracted specialists who had recently worked in Wargaming to a number of other positions. For example, the former designer of World of Tanks Kirill Potapov. In total, the studio now has 13 people. Among them are natives of Guerrilla Games, Starbreeze and Next Games.

The team will specialize in free-play tactical shooters with co-op and “honest monetization”. Redhill Games is based in Helsinki.

By the way, due to the large number of participants from Wargaming, we contacted a Belarusian company and asked if a new startup was related to it (after all, top managers usually sign a contract with an employer, according to which they undertake not to work within a certain niche for some time).
