Another Japanese company noted the fact of a slowdown in the growth of the mobile games market. Following Konami, this was announced by the publisher Capcom, which noted a similar trend in its latest quarterly financial report.

The editors of the Gameindustry resource.biz asked Capcom representatives why they forecast a decrease in the dynamics of revenue growth from mobile games.

In response, they cited the diversification of devices as one of the main reasons, and the publishing house also noted the waning popularity of a number of genres and a decrease in the profitability of hits launched last financial year.

In the current fiscal year, which will end in March 2014, Capcom will focus its efforts on those areas where growth is currently observed, and also intends to take into account the factor of diversification.

Recall that out of a fairly large number of f2p games released by Capcom for iOS, Android, Smurfs’ Village enjoyed the greatest success.
