Long-standing rumors about the release of an updated Switch console may be true. According to media reports, production of the next Nintendo Switch model will begin next year. However, there was no official confirmation.
This information was shared in Bloomberg. As reported, the exact characteristics of the upgraded version have not yet been determined. But analysts expect that the new Switch will become more powerful and will get support for 4K resolution.
The estimated release date of the console is the first quarter of 2021.
According to Bloomberg, it will not be possible to do this earlier, because factories are loaded with orders for the assembly of Switch and Switch Lite due to increased demand during the pandemic. At the same time, the launch of the new model will further increase Nintendo‘s sales and make Switch “the longest-lived generation of the company’s consoles,” the publication writes.
Rumors about the appearance of two revisions of the Nintendo Switch have been circulating since March last year. The Switch Lite junior console was released six months later – in September 2019. The senior premium version was never announced.
