Niantic plans to organize mass processions of Pokémon GO and Ingress players in the USA. For this purpose, they plan to block traffic on the streets.

The 9to5mac publication reports that Niantic, the developer of the Pokémon GO and Ingress AR games, in collaboration with the John S. non-profit Foundation. and James L. Knight Foundation wants to organize a number of events for its players in public places in cities of the United States.

As part of the events, the companies plan to use apps to guide players along planned routes that will include those places in the real world that players will be able to interact with (including PokéStops and Gyms).

Niantic with John S. and James L. Knight Foundation are already working with representatives of city administrations, coordinating processions and asking to temporarily block traffic along the routes, “so that people can use the streets (here, most likely, roadways are meant, – approx.editors) for walking, cycling, dancing and socialization.”

The first such event is scheduled for May 7 in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. It will be held as part of another event – Open Streets 704, which temporarily blocks the movement of cars on the streets of the city.

The first event will be experimental. His route map for Pokémon GO players is already ready.
