Bandai Namco Media Corporation and Drecom, a web platform for social games, announced the joint creation of the BXD game studio.

BXD will develop free HTML5 browser games based on Bandai Namco franchises, including Dragonball Z and Family Stadium (known in the West as R.B. I. Baseball).

According to the press release, Bandai Namco will own 51% of the shares of the new studio, and the BDX will be headed by Bandai Namco executive Director Koji Tezuka.

The creators of BDX invested about $2.1 million in the company. The release of the first games is scheduled for next year.
